Having graduated with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in English from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), I am an English Language tutor based in Hong Kong SAR. I have been working in the private supplementary education sector to prepare secondary school students for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) English Language examination.

I presented my undergraduate capstone project, which is titled “The impact of ChatGPT on the acquisition of English indirect questions: A mixed-methods study”, at Asia-Pacific Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning (APACALL) Online Symposium 2024.

In the 2024/25 academic year, I will be serving as an English Language tutor under Kenneth Lau’s Teaching Team at Beacon College, a tutorial school in Hong Kong that specialises in private supplementary education for local secondary students. A junior secondary (S.1-S.3) summer course jointly taught by me and Kenneth will be offered starting from mid-July.

I attended the award ceremony for the PolyU Undergraduate Conference on Applied Linguistics and Language Studies (PolyU-CALLS). I received the Best Non-ENGL Presentation Award for my presentation, which is titled “The impact of ChatGPT on the acquisition of English indirect questions: A mixed-methods study”.

I presented my undergraduate capstone project, which is titled “The impact of ChatGPT on the acquisition of English indirect questions: A mixed-methods study”, at the grand finals of the inaugural Capstone Project Presentation Competition (CPPC2024), which was inspired by Three Minute Thesis (3MT®).

As part of a free mock examination co-organised by Beacon College and Principal Chan Free Tutorial World, I delivered a one-hour briefing session on how to tackle Paper 1 (Reading) questions in a more strategic manner.

At Beacon College, I led a 90-minute remedial workshop on 10 common English grammar mistakes, which targeted at low-to-intermediate learners. The mistakes under investigation included T-to-C movements in embedded interrogative clauses, incorrect verb forms (e.g., to-infinitive) in the mandative subjunctive, comma splices and dangling participles.
